What is MCM?

  • The Master of Communications Management is a partnership degree offered by McMaster University and Syracuse University for professionals in the areas of public relations, public affairs, government communications, government relations, health communications, community management, community engagement, public participation, advocacy, stakeholder relations, consulting and communications management.
  • The degree combines the academic and professional expertise of three academic units (CSMM, DeGroote School of Business and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications) to offer Canada's only communications management graduate program.
  • The best of communications research, strategy, law, ethics and theory combined with core business management courses in strategic planning and finance, marketing, management studies. 
  • Additionally, the MCM offers social media strategy and management, conflict resolution, crisis management, reputation and brand management and leadership.

Application deadline:

The deadline for October 2019 applications is July 31, 2019. We review applications and make admission offers on an ongoing basis. However, there is only one intake annually in October.
